Hayley Atwell talks Agent Carter, reveals how many eps we’ll get in S1

A new interview with Agent Carter star Hayley Atwell has been released, with the Marvel actress talking about what fans can expect from her upcoming prequel series.

The biggest bombshell was that Atwell confirms the first season will be eight episodes long, which fits with what we’ve been hearing about a limited series approach to package into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s downtime.

She also hints we’ll get to see more sides of Peggy Carter as they dig into the character and show the aftermath of Captain America : First Avenger and Steve Rogers’ disappearance. Atwell was a highlight of First Avenger, and her one-shot was fantastic, so we can’t wait to get a look at this series.

Check out an excerpt from the interview below :

“It’s surreal and humbling, a character you played four years ago, when you’ve done other jobs in other worlds in other genres and other countries, and they call you back and say we want you here, we want you to tell our story. I feel like there’s a responsibility to make sure she’s what everyone wants her to be…

Fans want to see the complexities, the three dimensions of her, what makes her tick, what makes her crumble, what makes her crash and the limitations of who she is. That makes her all the more relatable… Making sure she has a story within herself, as well as the story of each episode fighting against who she’s fighting against and still battling with her own demons and losing the love of her life and what the personal cost of that is.”

Agent Carter is slated to run during the mid-season break of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s second season. What’s your take ?
